As a Planning Tech and Grant Coordinator with the Economic Empowerment program, Eric Robins works primarily with the Community Economic Resilience Fund (CERF) team, helping to promote a sustainable and equitable recovery from the economic distress of COVID-19 by diversifying local economies and developing sustainable industries. He helps to coordinate the Eastern Sierra region, as well as ensure equitable representation of SBC’s other communities in their respective regions.

Born in Los Angeles but raised in Nevada County, Eric graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Linguistics, and since returning to his hometown of Grass Valley California he has worked in fundraising for the South Yuba River Citizens League and Friends of the River. Over the years he has also spent significant time in local politics and civic organizations, including his old high school board, the Grass Valley Planning Commission, and LGBTQ groups. He is excited to help SBC address the challenges that his and other rural communities face.

When he’s not walking in the woods of Nevada County or swimming in the Yuba River’s various watering holes, Eric is likely indulging his nerdy streak and can be found reading, playing games with friends, or crocheting.
