As SBC’s 21-22 CivicSpark Fellow, James is working to build local government capacity for climate resilience and support the Climate and Energy Team’s programs including Sierra Nevada Energy Watch (SNEW) and the Sierra Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Partnership (Sierra CAMP).
Originally from New Jersey, James traveled out West in 2018 to pursue working for the U.S. Forest Service. After three seasons of fighting wildfires, James interned with the CA Governor’s Office of Planning and Research Climate Team tracking adaptation efforts across the state. He is passionate about climate adaptation, environmental justice, and public service. When not working, James likes to spend time in nature – including splitboarding, hiking, and mountain biking – play with his golden retriever, or build-out campers.
