As communications associate Heather ensures clear, effective, and audience-appropriate communication flows between the facilitation team and the many audiences, including tribal and disinvested communities, the program is designed to support. 

 

She brings 25 years of corporate communications and media relations experience to her role, including eight years leading agency-side communications for Clif Bar and Company and its many humanitarian and environmental non-profit entities. Prior to joining the Sierra Jobs First team, she ran a communications and media relations consultancy for clients in heathtech and human performance, served as a coach for the Sierra Business Development Center’s pitch camp events, and advised SBDC clients on brand messaging strategy and visibility. 

 

Born and raised in Los Angeles before moving to San Francisco and living for a year in New York City, her love of trail ultra running prompted a move to Truckee in 2017, where she has witnessed firsthand the rapid shifts and unique needs of businesses in the region.
