Anika is the Government Affairs Program Assistant and works to support the GA team on legislative advocacy, research, and other efforts to support the policy priorities of the Sierra Nevada.

Anika grew up in Illinois but moved to the West Coast to attend Claremont McKenna College where her passion grew for policy analysis, climate issues, and state policy. At CMC, Anika ran cross country and track and graduated with a B.A. in public policy and data science. After graduating, she joined the Town of Truckee as a CivicSpark Fellow where she worked on affordable housing program research and development. 

In her free time, Anika can be found running, backpacking, reading, spending time with friends, and finding new parts of the Sierras to explore. Last summer she had the opportunity to backpack the JMT which further deepened her appreciation for the Sierra Nevada.
