Entrepreneurial Opportunities Abound at This Week’s Business Expo

Two years ago, I took the beautiful drive to South Lake Tahoe, CA to attend the Tahoe Chamber’s Business Expo at Harveys Lake Tahoe. I had heard about the party at the South Shore business event of the year and had to see it for myself. The Business Expo of 2017 did NOT disappoint, and I am looking forward to revisiting this amazing event on March 29th, 2019. This year, the Sierra SBDC is thrilled to partner on a learning opportunity right before the Expo — a Small Business Lender Panel covering How to Access Capital for YOUR Business!

COMM JC SouthLakeExpo Blog 2017 04South Lake Tahoe and the surrounding areas of El Dorado County make up the southern end of the Sierra Small Business Development Center’s seven county region. We have four active consultants in the South Shore area, community members and business experts who share their expertise with clients to increase the area’s economic development, elevate the business community, and create jobs.

In partnership with the Small Business Administration, Sacramento District Office, and the Tahoe Chamber, we are bringing a full panel of lenders and experts to the Tahoe Chamber offices at 2pm on March 29th. This is a great opportunity to come learn about minimum credit scores, collateral options, SBA loans, conventional loans, alternative financing, and FREE resources to assist you in accessing the capital you need to start or grow your business. After this important workshop, you’ll want to head on over to Harveys for the 2019 Expo, a can’t miss event!

According to the Tahoe Chamber’s website, “the annual Business EXPO is the most dynamic business event of the year that showcases Tahoe Chamber members raising the bar in business!” and this could not have been more true when I attended two years ago. From the moment I walked through the door, the energy and excitement in the room was palpable. All types of businesses and nonprofits were displaying their work proudly, and the guests cruising the room were eager to learn more about each company’s work.

The pairing of the Small Business Lender Panel with the Tahoe Chamber’s Business Expo is a perfect chance for entrepreneurs to learn and network at the same time. After the Panel, head just across the street to Harveys to “meet over 80 local businesses and explore the diversity of offerings that are available on the South Shore. Connect to all that your community has to offer while enjoying bites and beverages from some of South Lake’s best restaurants and establishments.”

The Sierra SBDC team is grateful for the opportunity to attend the Expo and very excited to be bringing an important workshop to the area. We hope to see you on March 29th!
