The 16th Annual California Climate & Energy Forum (CCEC) is going to be hosted on July 9-10, in San Jose, CA. With the theme “Hope in Action: Local Leads the Way,” this year’s forum will highlight the critical role of local leadership in addressing the climate crisis and advancing equity. The two-day event will bring together local and regional governments, State agencies, nonprofits, community-based organizations (CBOs), and private sector leaders to collaborate, share strategies, and inspire action.

Sierra Business Council’s Climate and Energy Team will be traveling to San Jose in July to learn about the lessons and successes resulting from local initiatives on energy efficiency, building decarbonization, climate action planning, and more. In addition, the Sierra Business Council team will seek collaboration and share details of our own local initiatives that we have been spearheading in our communities, including the Climate Transformation Alliance, Go Electric Truckee Tahoe, the Northern Rural Energy Network, and the Sierra Nevada Energy Watch programs.

Sierra Business Council encourages all of our local government partners to attend the CCEC Forum to gain knowledge about how to identify and support climate action in their jurisdictions and regions. Every year we’ve attended our team has learned invaluable lessons from others working in this field, which has strengthened our programs and improved outcomes.
